Day 157

You really enjoy the Christmas tree and the pillows that Mormor and I made. What a face.

Today you had your first taste of food. I made you some oatmeal cereal...this is what you though of it...

Day 156

Today you started smiling and sticking your tongue out at the same time. It is so cute! Daddy and I laugh when you do it...oh how we love your little face.

Day 155

We got our Christmas tree today. Isn't it pretty? I love how it brings warmth to the living room.
This is Reid's first ornament

This was his reaction to the tree. He loves the lights and wants to touch the branches when he has the opportunity.
I know Reid is a little out of focus, but I love his face.

Day 153- {5 month letter}

Dear Reid,
You are 5 months old today. It is so awesome to watch you learn and grow each month. I can’t believe all of the things you can do now.
  • You can sit with your hands supporting you (sometimes you are daring and sit up tall)
  •  You can arch your back and turn your head around to see someone you hear talking.
  • Laugh at something we do.
  •  Eat your feet
  • Change your own schedule when you are tired.
  • You want to do whatever we are doing.
  • Scream really loudly.
  • Try to get our attention in other ways than crying.
  • Turn your self around on the floor.
  • Make many faces to express your mood.

You really like the “manamana” song and the "yodeling song" from the sound of music.  When I played you those songs for you on Youtube, you laughed a lot. Your personality is developing more and more each day. You seem to have a preference to move, to make noise and watch things outside. I have a feeling that you won’t want a desk job when you grow up.
It seems like you have grown an inch or so in the last 2 weeks. Your pants are looser  around your waist now, and they aren’t as long on you.  You are getting so tall little man! I can’t believe that you are almost 1/2 a year old! Daddy and I have enjoyed these last 5 months with you. We are so thankful that God gave us you!!
Love from,
Your Mommy

Day 152- Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!
We are so, so, so, so thankful that God gave us you Reid.
 We are thankful for:
A healthy family
A warm house to live in.
  Food on our table.
Daddy's job.
Mommy being able to stay home with you.
Family, our little growing one and all of our family members that we got to see today.
All the things that God has given us.
You did fairly well today. You missed your afternoon nap but you were still in a really good mood. You really wanted to eat the Thanksgiving food, that will have to wait for your second Thanksgiving celebration. :o) This evening was really hard. You were so overtired that you wouldn't go to bed. As much as it broke our hearts to hear you cry for 25 minutes, it was all we could do for you. We knew you needed sleep and finally you did just that.
I love the pictures that Daddy took of us. Your "Gobble, Gobble" shirt is super cute! What a handsome boy you are!!

Just hanging out with Daddy at The Gelato Fiasco in Brunswick. We had a great time hanging out on the couch and doing something different. You loved looking at the silver tin ceiling.

Day 151

You love to look out the window and see the cars drive by. If you were just an inch taller you wouldn't need the pillow to boost you up. It is so cute to watch you grip the top of the couch and jump in excitement.

This is what you look like from the outside looking in.

Day 150

You had so much fun hanging out in the laundry basket today. I put a blanket, ball and Sophie in there with you and you were content for quite a while.

Your hair is so awesome little man!!

Day 149

Today we visited Nancy, Jacob and Gracie for a "play date". Really Mommy and Nancy talked and caught up, which was really nice to do. I snapped this picture of you before we left. You look so cute as a rugby player. After our visit to Nancy and the kids, we stopped by Mormor and Papa G's house to say hi and eat some lunch. You responded to your name when they called to you. For the last 2 or 3 days you have been consistently responding to your name.

Day 148

Today you had your first taste of water. You LOVED it! It's been pretty dry in our house and it seemed to be effecting your throat, so we let you try some water. It was so cute to watch you pick up the bottle and drink.

Day 146

Hanging out with Mormor, wearing the sweater she made for you.

Day 145

What is this stuff? I think I like it.

And then you spat up all over yourself. I think those pants are a little bit too tight...

But you smelled much better after Daddy gave you a bath.

Also, you figured out that the piano makes noise when you press a key.

{Embrace the camera}-November 18th

Sleeping on Papa G. This was the first time that you fell asleep on him and you made him want to take a nap with your snugglyness. (is that a word? Well it is now.)

Day 144

This is how you tell me that you are hungry in the morning. We had a lovely conversation while I was packing Daddy's lunch.

You are enjoying the sunset and watching the glowing clouds float by.

Mormor and I bought a sewing machine and it arrived today. I made you "baby legs" and I think you look cute in them. :)

Day 138

{Embrace the camera}-November 11th

Today for Embrace the camera I'm featuring you with Great Grampy Gormley and Great Grammy Gormley. They are both at a nursing care facility right now and I think you made their day. Grampy cuddled with you and enjoyed seeing you smile...he also said you were nice and warm, he is usually cold, so this was nice for him. Grammy held you and said, " He is a cute one" which is a lot of words spoken from her. She smiled at you and you could tell that she loves you. Reid you have a great heritage found in your great grandparents and I want you to know that they love you dearly, I saw it in their eyes. Great Grampy and Grammy love Jesus and I'm sure they would tell you all about Him and how He loves us if they had the chance. I think we'll go back and visit soon, if not for us, then for them, to smile and see the joy of a baby, well really of you, Reid.

Day 136

Gazing at Mormor and taking her in...or maybe you are begging her for a chocolate chip cookie?
Maybe if we give you a cookie, you'll forgive us for this picture....
What can we say, you are a very cute reindeer.

Day 135

You were in such a great mood today. Daddy had the day off since he worked on Saturday, so we enjoyed looking at some magazines at Borders and walking around the mall. We saw Auntie Elise at work and you are smitten with her. You gave her the biggest smiles and you were definitely flirting with her.  You didn't nap normally, but remained in a great mood. What a cutie!

Day 134

Today you wore your work boots for the first time. You look so handsome in them!

I love how you are studying Daddy's face. I think you love him a lot. :o)
